Frequently Asked Question(s)

Does misting occur at the outlet?

The Airbitat Cooler is not a misting solution and all moisture is completely evaporated before leaving the unit.

Where does the Airbitat Cooler work best?

The Airbitat Cooler works best in well ventilated spaces, preferably with adequate shelter from the elements. These can include commercial spaces – such as semi-open urban areas, outdoor attractions, alfresco dining outlets; or even in industrial spaces such as large factories and hangars.

Can the Airbitat Cooler be used indoors?

The Airbitat Cooler can be used indoors, but only with sufficient ventilation. It is not advisable to use the system in a totally enclosed space due to the gradual build-up of humidity.

What is the product lifespan of the Airbitat Cooler?

The Airbitat Cooler has a product lifespan of about 5 Years.

What is required to operate the City Cooler?

A single-phase power source, minimum 1-bar pressure water-inlet is required. A water discharge point is also necessary as the system automatically discharges any excess water at the end of operations.

What is the water consumption?

The City Cooler consumes around 20 liters of water an hour. *Subject to environmental conditions

What is the noise level of the City Cooler?

The noise level is about 68 dB(A) at full operation.

What is the running cost?

It costs $0.35 per hour based on tropical climate conditions, and Singapore’s utilities calculations.

What is the area of coverage?

The area of coverage is around 20-25sqm.

What type of maintenance is required?

The City Cooler requires a thorough cleaning of internal components once every 6 months. For pre-filters, which are attached to the removable grills, we recommend that it should be washed regularly depending on the ambient condition in which the Airbitat Cooler is installed.

City vs Urban Cooler, which is better?

The choice of cooler depends on your needs and existing infrastructural requirements of the site you intend to cool. When outfitted with ducts, the urban does not take up any footprint within the targeted cooling area, and provides an evenly cooling. For stronger spot cooling, the City Cooler may serve as the better choice.

What is required to operate the Urban Cooler?

A three-phase power source and minimum 1-bar pressure water-inlet is required. A water discharge point is also necessary as the system automatically discharges any excess water at the end of operations.

What is the water consumption?

The Urban Cooler consumes around 30 liters of water an hour. *Subject to environmental conditions*

What is the noise level of the Urban Cooler?

The noise level is about 75 dB(A) at full operation.

What is the running cost?

It cost $0.77 per hour based on tropical climate conditions, and Singapore’s utilities calculations.

What is the area of coverage?

The area of coverage is around 30-37sqm.

The Urban Cooler requires a thorough cleaning of internal components once every 6 months. For pre-filters, which are attached to the removable grills, we recommend that it should be washed regularly depending on the ambient condition in which the Airbitat Cooler is installed.

What is the available fan static at the discharge outlet for the Urban Cooler system?

The Urban Cooler has 550Pa of additional fan static at the discharge.

Must the Urban Cooler be roof mounted?

The mounting of the Urban Cooler is customisable and can be adapted for either roof or floor mounting. Please email us at airbitat.sales@stengg.com to help you work out the best option.

How is the Urban Cooler unit moved into place?

Depending on the installation site, the Urban Cooler can either be pushed (on castor wheels) or hoisted into the installation site. The unit will then be transferred onto isolation rubber or spring mounts.

I would like to install Urban Cooler above ground level but there is not enough head clearance to hoist the equipment into the installation space.

The Urban Cooler unit is designed in a way such that site installation is quick and possible for areas where access for the fully assembled unit is limited/not possible.

What is the temperature of the exhaust?

The temperature of the exhaust varies with environmental conditions. However, regardless of the temperature, the exhaust air temperature will always be lower than the ambient air temperature.

What is the minimum clearance required for the system?

To minimise impact to airflow, a minimum clearance of 300mm all around the unit is recommended. A clearance of 500mm above the unit is also recommended for the exhaust air outlet.

Are air ducts included with the Urban Cooler system?

As different customers will have difference requirements for the design of the air duct, we do not supply air ducts as a standard component but as an add-on feature. Customers are welcome to engage their own duct contractor or engage us to supply this feature. Either way, we will help the customer design the distribution of air to optimise the effectiveness of the Urban Cooler system.
